Dearest Marcy, Andy & Family,
Danielle's life was entrusted to the love and devotion of Marcy and Andy. Siblings Haley and Jack surrounded her with youth's laughter, playfulness and supported her special life. Her days were full in a busy home , swims in the backyard pool and frequent enjoyable car rides with her favourite tunes. Marcy, a stay at home Mom, was available 24/7 to care for their 3 children especially when Andy's career took him away for business. Special caregivers enriched her life at school, respites times and at the DASC program(secured by Andy).
Danielle taught us the meaning of trust and surrender. She exhibited pure joy and happiness from the warm touch of a hand, the sound of a caring voice, listening to music and any unusual sound like spoons hitting the floor!
We believe she taught us more about being the best we can be on life's journey. Let us embrace the possibilities of offering acts of kindness in her name.
To quote Jean Vanier, author of 30 books and founder of L'Arche communities for adults living with disabilities in over 38 countries, " I had no plan, I just met people and people with disabilities awoke my heart".
