Obituary of Marie Mamie Davidson

Davidson (nee Braunmiller) Marie

June 21 1939 – November 19 2019

Marie lost her short battle with cancer at the Halifax Infirmary.  Marie received her early education through the Sydney public school system and from there she enrolled in the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing in Halifax where she graduated with the class of 60B.  Marie’s working career started with the Grace Maternity Hospital where she was employed for 14 years until that institution closed its doors and she transferred to the IWK Family Health Centre PNC where she retired.

Marie loved family, friends, nursing, golf, and travelling.  She was special to everyone that had the privilege to know her.  She was an ardent card player, being especially fond of playing bridge.  Marie was a long time member of Brightwood Golf & Country Club.  She never shied away from a glass of white wine.

Left behind to mourn this beautiful lady are her husband of 58 years, Larry; son Steve, (Lisa), granddaughters Courtney and Caitlin – Calgary, Alberta; daughter Cheryl Ruton, (Steve), grandchildren Madison and Tyler – Oakville, Ontario; son Marc, (Janise), grandchildren Rachael, Hilary, and Jack – Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia.

Thank you so much for the amazing support of our good friends.  A celebration of Marie’s wonderful life will be held in the forthcoming spring.
