Brenda Fraser
Glace Bay
On November 13th, Brenda went home to be with the Lord, passing peacefully at home after a brief illness. Anyone that met Brenda knew her by her kindness, strength and faith in the Lord. She saw the good in everything and everyone she met.
She was an amazing wife of 50 plus years to Glenn; loving mother to Kenneth (Donna and boys), Kerri, and Kristine, and loved her two granddaughters, Daniella and Samantha unconditionally. She also shared a special bond with her sister-in-law Beverly Fraser with their daily phone calls and weekly visits.
She had a life long passion for animals and took great pride in breeding Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers for over 22 years. In this process, she achieved numerous Canadian and International Championships with her Sweetie Wheeties. One of her most cherished relationships during this time was her bond with Bradley O’Brien (Glace Bay), who she mentored for over ten years.
She spent many years sharing her love of the Lord through singing her praise in church and helping to direct the children’s choir at Holy Cross Church with Stephanie Doyle.
She was a woman that practiced random acts of kindness with no expectation of any returns. Brenda’s love was unconditional to everyone she knew.
She enjoyed her early morning Blackett Street sunrises and cherished the possibilities of every day. Her kind heart and love for those around her will always be with us.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her mother’s name “Florence Dunphy” to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia ( c/o Seaview Manor)
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16th at 10am in celebration of Brenda’s life (no visitation) at TJ Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. (902-849-4199) Reception to follow.
