It is with great sadness, that we the family of Alan Gregory Brown, age 73, Dominion, wish to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband , father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother-in-law. Alan passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional, August 9, 2019.

Most of Alan’s working life was spent on the Great Lakes. Sailing for over 30 years until an accident forced him to retire, you  could say sailing was in his blood and he made many great friends, whom he spoke of often.  He will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends here and Thorold, ON.

Alan leaves behind his loving wife, Helen (Murphy); daughters, Sherry (Shea), Charlene (DJ); grandchildren, Darren, Brandon, Reece, and Jersey; great grandson, Luka; brothers, Mickey (Gerry), Steve (Sheila), Dale (Brenda); sisters, Ann (Terry), Chickie (Francis); brother-in-law, Enzo DiMarco; Aunt Mabel. He is also survived by his stepson, Trevor, and his children, Andrew, Brendan, Jessie and Carmen; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, James and Margaret he was predeceased by his much loved sister, Lynn DiMarco.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August  13, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating.  Reception to follow.

The family would like to thank the staff of McDougall Court for the loving care they provided Alan during his stay there. Your kindness will always be remembered. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care, CBRH.
