Condolences to the Brown family and be assured of our prayers for the happy repose of Alan’s soul and for all his loved ones who mourn his loss. Our families were neighbours on Park Lane years ago. We lived at the top of Park Lane across from St. Charles Convent. Mickey was a childhood playmate of my little brother Desmond who was killed by a transport truck when he was 8 (1948). We remember fondly Alan’s dear and wonderful parents Margaret and Jamer, and the whole Daley Clan, How we loved to spend time with them,. They have left a treasure of memories. Love and prayers, Ellen Marie, Sister Sheila CSJ, Paul and Redmond Fortune.

Dearest Helen and family, I am so sorry to hear of Allan’s passing. He was such a wonderful loving guy at heart and had a smile for everyone he knew. Mom used to look out our living room window on Dunkeld and look to the canal and with each passing ship she wondered if Alan was on it. When he moved to Thorold and lived here for many years and made many many friends it was my Husband’s cousin Steven who brought me to Allen’s place to surprise him with a visit from Gertie’s daughter. So glad we had the time to visit with him when we were down home in Glace Bay please know Helen I hold you close to my heart and I know this time is not easy.... love you Janet xo

I’m writing this for my Mom, Irene Anderson. She said she was very fortunate to have known Alan for quite a long time. She treasured her long friendship with him throughout the years. He will take a little piece of her heart with him. She loved him very much. She is thankful she was able to visit him when she was home for Seaside Daze. Our most sincere condolences to you and your family, we loved Alan, he was a real friend who was always there for us offering to help us in any way. He was a great story teller, sharing his youthful adventures and his times spent working on the big boats, when he would come to visit and have a Pepsi and a bar. He always had kind words and a funny story to tell. We will keep him in our hearts with us always.

So sorry for your loss, I remember Allan from the time we were just kids with our whole life ahead of us, But there is one act of kindness I will always remember. We all wanted to go to the movies at the royal in Dominion. Jackie and I didn't have the money so Allan found enough pennies so my brother and I could go, We had a great group of boys and our hangout was at the Browns a wonderful family. I ran into Allan several times over the years and was always pleased to see him. Rest in Peace my Friend.
