I had the privilege to serve Barry for the last 3 years. He was such a gentle wonderful soul. I am blessed to have known him. I hope him and Pearl and laughing and smiling holding each other. I am so saddened by his passing, he will truly be missed.

Barry, I was thrilled when my daughter Eleanor found my biological family more than a year ago, and the first person we made contact with was you. Even though you were surprised at the revelation, you welcomed us with open arms and warmth. From the few times, I spoke with you on the telephone, I knew you were a truly nice man. We had been saving to take a trip to Nova Scotia to meet you and other Family Members. You were so excited at the prospect of introducing us. I hope we still get to meet other Tanners, and we want to say a prayer for you.

My sincere condolences. I am so grateful to have gotten to know my cousin Barry, and enjoyed our frequent phone calls and how he welcomed my Dad and I into the family with open arms. He was kind, generous, and so very excited to greet us. He even did a DNA test with us to confirm that my father's biological father was his uncle John. I remember the first time I heard his voice - it was familiar as though I had known him my entire life. I loved Barry very much, and I am going to miss him tremendously. -Elle
