It was with great sadness that I learned of Lorne's passing from an aquaintance just recently. Lorne and I worked in an adolescent boys group home in Ontario many years ago and I never forgot him. We met again years later at a Union meeting and rekindled our friendship. We shared many stories of those we worked with years ago. I will never forget the humour and decency of Lorne. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you Leander, and the rest of Lorne’s family, during this sad time. I have know Lorne since he was a young boy growing up in Douglasfield and he always had a gentle and kind spirit. He will be missed by all who knew him. I realize he suffered greatly during the last number of years but he always looked on the positive side of life and accepted his limitations without lamenting about the challenges he faced.
