Obituary of Robert L. Dickson
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 74, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2019 in the palliative care unit of the QEII hospital.
He attended Dalhousie University, and continued his education at TUNS graduating with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1972, he started his working career at National Gypsum before moving on to Hermes Electronics (Ultra Electronics) where he worked for 36 years. Bob was a devoted husband, father and an all around family man as he rejoiced in and promoted his family’s academic and athletic achievements. This dedication extended to his precious grandchildren in whom he took great pride. Bob also had a soft spot for his rescue pets caring for them with patience and love. He was known to family and friends as a “Mr. Fix It” and never turned down a chance to help out.
Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Heather (Baillieul); sons, Craig (Shannon) and Rob (Lindsay); daughter, Amy (Ralph Levangie); grandchildren, Finley and Sawyer; Carlie and Liam; Lachlan and Landen. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara; nephew, Andrew (Shari); niece, Colleen (Mike).
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the extraordinary palliative care team on 7A at the VG site.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Bedford United Church on Friday, February 8th, at 1:30 pm with a reception to follow in the church hall.
