Obituary of Elaine Keefe

Elaine Keefe, 69 of Bedford, passed away on July 12, 2016 surrounded by family and friends in the QEII Victoria General Hospital. Elaine is survived by her husband David; brothers Joe DeMont of Sherwood Park, AB., David DeMont (Sue), Mission Viejo, CA.; nieces Denise Kelly, Michelle Alexander; nephew Scott DeMont; and sister in law Donna Jones. Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Jean DeMont and sister in law Heather DeMont. Elaine had a successful career in the mortgage lending/insurance field with her last 10 years at CMHC. Elaine always said that this was her favourite position, not only did she enjoy her work but treasured her coworkers. She was blessed to have a large network of loyal and caring friends including her two best friends, Mary Morrison and Susan Tanner whom she loved and considered family. Thanks to Sandy Rutledge and Gail Morris for always being there for Elaine and David throughout Elaine’s journey. A special thank you to the Fireside UCW for their friendship and support, and to Drs. Brian Stacey and Jonathan Trites for their compassion and excellent care. A celebration of Elaine’s life will take place in Bedford United Church, 1200 Bedford Highway, Bedford NS, on Tuesday evening, July 19th at 7:00pm, followed by a reception. Everyone is warmly welcomed to attend. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Bedford United Church, Canadian Cancer Society, or Feed Nova Scotia. Family flowers only.
