Obituary of Dolores Theresa Cornelius

CORNELIUS (Melanson), Dolores Theresa – Age 58 of Bedford. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Dolores passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 21, 2016 with her loving husband at her side. She was born December 25, 1957 in Halifax. Dolores is survived by her husband and lifetime partner, Grayling; daughter, Valarie (Jason); son, Geoffrey; her grandchildren, Abigail and Jackson; sisters, Donna (Jim), Nancy (Stephan) and Debbie, as well as many nieces, nephews and sisters/brothers-in-law. She was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Daniel Melanson; her mother and father-in-law, Marie and Charles Cornelius; sister, Linda and brother, David. Dolores was employed at the Department of Labour and Advanced Education where she made many friends who will miss her. She was a member of the Bedford Legion where she enjoyed playing bingo and darts. All who knew Dolores knew how big her heart was, and how much she loved her family and grandchildren. Dolores was always willing to help anyone in need and was always happy to do so. She loved her annual trips with Grayling to Advocate Harbour and looked forward to going each year. A celebration of Dolores’ life will be held on Sunday, August 28, at 2 p.m. in the Bedford Legion, 1772 Bedford Hwy., Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
