Obituary of Emerson Duff

Duff, Emerson – age 80 of Glace Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Mulgrave, he was a son of the late Pierce and Beatrice Duff.
Duff enjoyed life; he was a family man and avid outdoorsman. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard. Duff was a very staunch Liberal, and enjoyed his visits to Tim Horton’s. He was an active member of the CBRM Police Commission, and a volunteer in the community.
Survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary; son, Blaise (Adeline); stepsons, Raymond (Vicky), Jim (Linda), Andrew, and Gary (Jen); daughter, Helen; stepdaughters Andrea (Todd) and Raylene (Denny); brother Louis (Audrey); sister May (Ches); and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister Gertie Bonin.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm in T.J. Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St, Glace Bay, (902) 849-4199.
A celebration of Duff’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:00 am in the T.J. Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialists Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carol Gillard officiating.
