Very sorry to get this news to start the day ! Rod was a constant face at the Midtown for many years, one of the all time leaders in take outs while heading home. He could always dish it out and take it back. It was always fun for those many 10 minute visits and I will miss him. Very proud of his family and his garlic was world class according to him. 4 years ago , when Rod was having some serious health issues ,my dad passed away. Late the 2nd night of visitation, in the door he comes with an oxygen tank and struggling to walk up the steps. Dad was a good friend of Rod and as he put it ,there was no way I was missing my chance to pay my respects to Doug. He was one solid guy. Thoughts go out to his family from all of the Midtown gang,past and present.
