I had a kinship with Victor that dealt with living life to the fullest. A relevant marker for a simple and true life was Victor’s Triumph.
Women, wine and song made hanging out with Victor a challenge especially at the Jazz festivals and Bearly’s. A game of pool and a cool one was Vic, somewhat “Cool hand Luke”. I found out yesterday of his death and I wish to express my condolences to his Family. We have lost a loving son, a smart man , a good friend and a brother in the pursuit of life without ignorance.
I will miss the balance Victor gave with his presence and the wisdom he spoke with so few words spoken in a calm voice that penetrated without discrimination.
God Bless you Vic. and we all will see you in our own time God willing.

I was stunted to hear about Vic. What a shock. I have known Vic for many years n can remember some of the great times we spent together. Him talking about his motorcycle while we played poker, usually at my place, with both Peters n Gary ( also passed). The Fridays n Saturdays downtown. The good old days. I will miss him greatly. To Darlene n his mom, my sincere condolences. Rest in peace my friend.

To Victor’s family,
I was remiss in not adding my wife’s name, Evelyn Allen, to my earlier message. Ev has known Victor for over 20 years and was deeply affected by the news. Victor was one of her favourite people and she enjoyed his company and his spirit like so many others. She had even travelled to some of the weekend shows with us and had wonderful laughs with him during those times, as well as at the Fall Fair. Victor raved over the ‘ring crew’ cookies she made every year to sustain us during the final jumper championships at the fair.
Ev sends her deepest regrets to the family.

To Mrs. Stevens, Mr. Stevens, and Darlene,
I was astounded when I saw the report of Victor’s death. I’ve known him since he and Leo Johnson (also passed) joined the Atlantic Winter Fair Ring Crew in the mid-70s. He and Bob Ring (also passed), Gerry Shea, and I later formed East Coast Ring Crew when the Fair moved to Windsor for five years while Exhibition Park was being designed and built. We did horse shows all over Nova Scotia, N.B., and P.E.I.
Victor was our ‘Director of Operations’ because he had this inventive mind that could figure out ways to get things to work – jump gear, tractors, trailers, etc. – that varied from one stable or fair to the next. He and I did scores of shows together, and travelling with him was always a blast. His infectious humour and love of music were an essential part of the road gear.
He will be missed by all the other members of the Maritime Fall Fair ring crew who worked for us and especially by Gerry Shea and me.
He was as close to me as a brother. Unfortunately the last time I saw him was at my 60th birthday party when he came out to Middle Musquodoboit and stayed till only he and I were left standing.
God bless the man! I hope for strength for the family to get past this tragedy.
I ask the family to contact me when they decide on the memorial service so I and others who treasured his spirit can be there to attend. My number is 902-384-2246.

My deepest condolences to Victor, Amie, Darlene and relatives.
It is with great sadness and shock that I receive this sad news. Victor and I were the best of friends in the early years till life paths separated us long time ago but never in memories.
This, most likely is because we were lot alike and shared same passions for motorcycles, cars, fixing/building things and ironically both ended up working in the film industry, although thousands of miles apart. Thanks for being in my life in those years and sharing great experiences that are burnt in my memories with fondness.
I will miss you greatly my friend. May you be with God!

My sincere condolences to Darlene and Family.
I was very sadden to learn of Victor’s passing. We were part of a group of friends as young adults, and where there was Victor, there was Vjkol. I remember his long blonde curly hair and infectious smile. Oh how he made us laugh. I have so many memories, Victor will never be forgotten and will always be in my heart.
Darlene I would love to get in touch with you.
