1945-2019
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, brother, and friend, Joseph (Joe) Landry, age 73. He fought his cancer with dignity, strength, and hope at his residence in Lower Sackville, NS with his wife of 52 years, Rita (Wilson) at his side. He was born in Halifax to the late Leonard Landry and Serena (Peters.) He formerly resided in St. Eustache, Quebec for 45 years.
Joe was predeceased by his brother Donald.
He is survived by brothers Cyril (Kaye), Gerald (Helen), Richard (Marge) and sister Sharon (Thanasis) Azeloglou, all of Montreal, Quebec. He leaves to mourn his sister-in-law Thelma (Mike) Wilson, brother-in-law Dale (Rose) Wilson, and many nieces and nephews.
In Joe’s retirement he enjoyed driving for Stock School Bus, World Class Limousine, Avis Budget, and Grape Escapes Wine Tours.
Service to be held 11am Friday, March 22nd at St. John Vianney, 4 Beaverbank Road, Lower Sackville NS., with a Celebration of Life reception to follow in the Church Hall. Interment to follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Family flowers only, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Special thanks to Drs. Simon Houston, W.Cwazna, H.Henteleff, the Palliative Care and VON teams and to our dear friends Brian and Ellen Martel and many neighbours. Gratitude goes to the musicians who provided music for Joe’s solace.
