Carolyn Joan MacLeod Fiander, 86, of Sydney passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2024. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Paul MacLeod and Evelyn (Bragg) MacLeod.

She worked for over 20 years at ATV Sydney and was a proud member of Professional Secretaries International. She loved to travel, visit friends and be involved.

Joan is survived by her children; Paula Fiander of Victoria, and Bradley (Colleen) Fiander of Halifax; her sister, Deanna MacLeod of Wolfville; her brother, Paul (Diane) MacLeod of Sydney; and grandchildren, Breton, Cameron, and Jamieson Fiander.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 28, 6-8 PM, at the funeral home. Funeral will be held Friday, November 29 at 2 PM, in Heritage United Church, Charlotte Street, Sydney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
