I'm so sad that my dear Aunt Joan has passed. She was an exceptional and stylish lady, with very high standards, love, and great concern and care for others. She was full of mischief, with sparkling blue eyes, ready for any adventure. She always thought of others and tried to make sure they were included in any gathering. She kindly included me, her niece, on her family trip to the Bahamas (and it was wonderful), as well as many summer time vacations with the family at the bungalow in East Bay. I loved her, and will miss her dearly. She leaves behind many nieces, a nephew, as well as a grand niece and nephew who she loved dearly, and they loved her right back, one hundredfold; Ainsley, Teagan, Iain, Alex & Ben. I can still see little Ben's delight when great aunt Joan handed him the car keys, his first time ever (not to drive, just to fetch something from the car.....but he was floored and so delighted at her trust). Joan worked at the television station, so you never knew when you might suddenly find yourself on TV as an extra on the Christmas Daddies and other local shows. Also, the time she talked our way onto the deck of the Italian destroyer ship the Caio Duilio when it was in Sydney. We ended up having a personal tour and dinner on board. There are a million stories and memories to tell. Hers was a life full of generosity and expectations of excellence. May we all strive to meet her standards every day.
Love to all,
Alanna
