It is with deep sorrow that we, the family of Sarah Jane Organ, “Sadie”, 86, of Halifax, announce her passing, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Sadie was born in Frenchman’s Cove, Newfoundland, to the late Reginald Allan Pardy and Esther Jane (Grandy Pardy). Sadie worked for Sears Canada in her younger years, and took great pride in raising her five children, as well as helping to care for her grandchildren. Sadie enjoyed her time with family and friends at her cottage in Elmwood, Lunenburg County, volunteering with the Salvation Army, baking, and knitting socks for her friends and family.

Sadie is survived by her children, Reginald (Shelley); Rockwell (Susan); Nadine (Dwayne); Barry, and Jane (Jimmy) Innes; honorary son, Dwight (Denise) Barnes; grandchildren, Christopher; Trevor; Ashley; Rachael; Jillian; Matthew; Amanda and Norah; great-grandchildren, Riley, Logan and Boe; brothers, Morgan (Ruth) Pardy and Rendall (Ruby) Pardy; sisters, Shirley Tapper, Winnie Wells; and many nieces and nephews.

Sadie is predeceased by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Doug; her sisters Olive, Joyce, infant Sarah Jane, and brothers-in-law Gerald and Will.

Visitation with family and friends will be held at the Salvation Army Church, 328 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, on November 1st, 2024 at 1:00 pm, with Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm, with Captain Samuel presiding and reception to follow. Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to thank Kyle, Heidi, NP Michelle MacKay, and Dr. Hu at 7.4 QEII Stroke Unit for their compassionate care.
