Obituary of Jamie Stacey

Please share a memory of Jamie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts we share the news of Jamie Stacey’s passing on August 10, 2024. Jamie was born and raised in Halifax and enjoyed lifelong friendships with the Birdland/Rockingham boys. He loved time with friends, travelling, live music, movies, craft beer, and cigars. A big sport and music fan, he was always full of excitement for his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, Montreal Canadiens, and Bob Dylan. He especially loved time with family. Jamie was predeceased by parents Merle and Russell Stacey and brother-in-law Doug Hamilton. He is survived by his daughters Devon and Ella Stacey, sisters Christine Webb and Carol Hamilton, and former spouse Gail Clarke, as well as several special nieces and nephews. We are thankful for Jamie’s closest friends Rod Casey, Mark Horrelt, and Heather Knockwood for their love and support. Cremation has taken place and a private internment will follow in Cape Breton. All are welcome to an informal celebration of life on Tuesday, August 27 between 5:30-7:30pm in the Mary Holmes Room at Saint Andrew’s United Church (6036 Coburg Road, Halifax - enter at the double glass doors on Coburg). We welcome you to come and share your memories of Jamie. A fund has been set up to assist with funeral arrangements and to help Jamie’s daughters with their university education. In lieu of flowers we appreciate a donation to that fund or to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission.
