Joan was my Grade 4 teacher and friend of my mother's. I visited her home on many occasions with my mother. She was a kind and good teacher. and person. I have many fond memories of her which I treasure. My condolences to her family.

To the MacDougall Family, I read with a sense of sadness about Joan's death. I met her a number of times when I visited her home with Sr. Michelle. I was blessed to have met her and her Mother. May the gentle nature she was blessed with and the kindness she showed to others bring good memories to those who loved her and grieve her loss. So very sorry to hear about Joan. She was a friend of my mother and we visited there often. Joan or Miss MacDougal was my Grade 4 teacher. We were housed in the basement of the old school after the fire. She was very kind to us as a teacher. I asked her once if she would train myself and a few others for the Rotary Festival. She stayed after school for weeks to coach us in reciting our poem. She did a good job too, as it was the only time I came first, despite participating every year. I will always have fond memories of her. May she rest in peace.
