I first me Lou and Patsy when I started volunteering as an usher at the Savoy. Wasn’t yesterday!
Lou had a gift for story telling specifically “old days” courting Patsy. Boy did we have a good laugh and what a couple!
I’m deeply sorry for your loss Patsy and family.
My wish “Today and Always may loving memories of Lou bring you peace, comfort and strength”
God Bless

In memory of the departed soul, John, whose virtues knew no bounds. His altruistic nature was a perennial comfort. He was a beacon of generosity and thoughtfulness; his friendly demeanor brightened even our darkest days. It through my brothers that I had the privilege of knowing such an astoundingly compassionate individual as Lou. His loving memories shall forever remain etched in our hearts.

My condolences to the Whalen family. I was a school friend of Lou at St. Anns School growing up in Glace Bay. We lived in different neighborhoods but became close friends at school. Over the years our lives took different paths, but we would randomly run into each other occasionally. In spite of the fact that we did not see much of each other. I always considered him a good friend. He was a good man, and I was proud to consider him as my friend. In recent years I would see him at the Savoy theatre concerts. I would be sure to have a conversation with him. To the family , may the good memories sustain you through your grief.

I’m so sorry to hear that Lou has died. When we would visit our Grandfather on Maple Avenue, Lou was always one of the friendly neighbours that we knew were “keeping an eye.” Once we moved to the Avenue ourselves, Lou was always waving or stopping me to talk, even once I moved away from home. That end of the Avenue won’t be the same without him. Sending much love to Patsy and family.

I met Lou when I moved to the area from Ontario in Sept 2022. We shared a handshake and a friendly smile..over time we got to know each other at various functions we mutually attended. He was always quick to tell us how much he loved the area, how happy his life was and how much he loved his family. I never ever heard him complain about anything, always a positive attitude. I'm going to miss you my friend..rest easy Lou

In these times of sorrow, let us remember the profound love that John exuded in every interaction, his gentleness and selflessness a beacon to those around him. Lou's friendship with the Boone Family was testament to his affable personality. Always ready with an open heart and wise counsel he was indeed a joy to interact with. The void left by his passing brings immense grief - may solace be found in cherishing memories of him and Patsy.
