Dear MacIntosh & Evans Families…
We were so saddened to hear of Jo-Anne’s passing. As a second cousin and a classmate, I recall Jo-Anne’s friendly and rather quiet demeanour in our early years. It was not until our university days that I came to appreciate Jo-Anne’s quick wit and her love of life. You are all in our thoughts & prayers at this most difficult time.
Our Sincere Condolences

Oh my goodness....so many fun times since the early 80's with Jo-Anne and mutual friends Robyn/Maura/Cathy. Although we didn't see each other as often over the years, we almost ALWAYS got together for a night before Christmas. She had a beautiful disposition and was a hoot to be around. Sincerest condolences to Wayne, and to family. xo

Deepest sympathy to the MacIntosh and Evans Families. I grew up on Argyle Street with Jo-Anne and played in her yard many times. They had the best hopscotch in the neighbor. I haven't seen Jo-Anne for some time but used to run into her in Halifax over the years. Jo-Anne was a lovely person

Wayne, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and finding words to describe how we feel has been tough. It’s amazing when you make friends and over a short period of time they leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. Our afternoon poolside meetings at Maderia Place were the high point of our day and when we’re feeling blue those memories always brightens our day. Being the younger ones in the crowd you and Jo-Anne took us under your wing and for that we will always be grateful. Take care my friend and god bless.

Jo-Anne and I met the first day at “Little X” and we lived across the hall from each other at St. FX before the move to Halifax after graduation. We have remained in each others lives since. She was my lunch buddy, at times roommate and most of all, my friend. She is missed.

Glenn and I are so saddened to hear of Joanne’s passing. We visited them often when they camped at the Mira Road campsite. Joanne was my wonderful lifelong friend. We first met when working at Cara Food Services in our 20’s. That was when the fun started and it didn’t stop! Joanne and I laughed our way to many spots from Alaska to Portugal but our best moments were the visits I had to Halifax. We would go shopping for the deals and then spend an evening at Sambro Head often with a glass of Hoctaler and a lobster or two. She was a loyal and loving friend. She will be in my heart always.

Jo-Anne was a fellow graduate of the class of 1974. Was excited about the planned 50th Reunion being held in July 2024. She was a kind, soft spoken and somewhat shy individual as I recall our high school days at Saint Michael’s Senior High Glace Bay NS. When we meet in July all those who passed or are too sick to attend will be remembers by your fellow graduates. Rest in Peace and bask in heavenly glory Jo-Anne your home.

Jo-Anne & I started school together & graduated together. We later reconnected while working at the DGHospital. We reminisced about our school days & our beloved St Michael’s High School. She was a kind & peaceful person. I will miss her dearly. The light of the world is now a bit dimmer.

I am both saddened and shocked to learn of Jo-Anne’s passing. I have so many fond childhood memories of time spent together, of she and I sharing her roller skates, one for her foot and one for mine; of playing clamsey/clapsey on the side of my house, of playing in her back porch with her kitchen set, and so many more. Sending warm thoughts to the family of a wonderful lady taken far too soon.
