Obituary of Donald F. Poole

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Poole, Donald F. age 64 of Herring Cove. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, Don Poole. His wife Barb; son Trevor; daughters, Tara and Lee-Anne; and grandsons, Ari and Kaiden will miss his guidance, compassion, and love. Don was a devoted family man – he was our rock. Don was hardworking and honest. He gave generously of his time, knowledge, and many skills to family and friends – he was an exceptional man. If Don considered you a friend, you were indeed special. Memorial service at a later date. Thank you to the staff of the ICU, and also to Dr. Edwin Bamwoya and Don’s nurse Hannah for their compassionate guidance during his last hours. In spite of being unwell himself, Don’s roommate at the QEII wrote the following touching verse for me: My Hospital Buddy I am in the QEII, in a room with Don Poole He and his wife Barb are true, loyal and blue. Don was rushed to the hospital in December with a serious blood infection. It affected his immune system and all his vital connections. Barb comes to his room every single day, And when she has to go home, Don wants her to stay. You can tell this couple love each other very much As during the night he shouts for Barb – she has a healing touch. The doctors and nurses are on call 24/7 as Don is very sick, And when called, they will rush to his bedside very quick. They have knowledge, skills, kindness and compassion. And you can see in their work true passion. During the night the hospital provides Don with a sitter, And it’s good to know this couple are not quitters. At times Don feels so helpless and alone, But it won’t be long before he gets better and goes home. The Poole’s are considered my brand new friends, So I will send them my prayers, hugs and warmth right to the end. They are friends who will stand by you during times of stress and strife, And prove a priceless asset in the highs and lows of life. Roy White January 13, 2018 When the road you’re travelling seems all up hill, and everything looks impossible, Remember, no matter how dark the night, love and hope are always possible.
