I was shocked to hear of Donnie’s passing today. I worked at Spryfield Auto Parts for years. He was one of my favorite customers. I enjoyed delivering parts to Poole Drive. We would talk so much that my boss would ask what took me so long! When I had my first child in 1992 he and Barb gave me a gift for my son. In it Donnie put a welders hat. I still have it in a memory box for him. RIP Donnie

Barb,Trever,Tara,Lee Anne and grandsons.So sorry Donnie has left us much too soon.I first met Donnie when he was around 12 on my way back to the lake. He invited me into his house to show me his train set that he was very proud of.He was a great brother in law. He was a very good family man and helped everyone of them.We’ll all miss him. When my daughter Jill told me that Donnie was ill; it really touched my heart. In years gone by, it was always heartwarming to see him drive up the driveway because he loved to carry on and it would make your day! Donnie was loved for his fantastic personality and big smile. He was Jill’s Dad’s best friend. They are both devastated. Dear Barb and family: The heart remembers most what it has loved best. Dear Barb and Poole family, I first met Donnie (fellow Herring Cover)when I was about 12 years old and went to visit his sister Dianne after school.Also in the summers I walked by their house on the way to Ladders Lake hundreds of times in the summers.Many years later his sister Barb married my brother Bryan. I was glad we all got together last year for a family party and was glad to chat with Donnie and family.He still looked the same with a little smile on his face.I’m so sorry he had to leave so soon. We are feeling sincere sorrow for the family. Don sounded like a wonderful man and It is so unfortunate that he has to be gone from your lives at such a young age. We only met him once when he drove by and cleared out a huge snow bank for us…just out of kindness. We heard loving and proud comments about him, from his daughter, Lee-Anne. So sorry Lee-Anne. Barb and family I am so sorry to hear of Donnie’s passing. I know this is a very difficult time for all of you. I had a lovely conversation with Donnie a year or so ago at a Poole family event at his mom’s place, after not seeing him since we went to grade school together many years ago. It was so nice to chat with Donnie after so many years. What struck me most was how proud and loving he was when he spoke of you Barb, his children, his brother Harry and sisters Barb and Diane. It was so nice to sit and chat with him and to see his big quiet smile that I remember from grade school in Herring Cove. I hope all of your beautiful memories of your partner, dad, granddad, brother, uncle and friend help you all through this difficult loss.
