Obituary of William "Billy" Morrison

William (Billy) Morrison, 64 Glace Bay, N.S. It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a loving son, father, brother, and grandfather, William (Billy) Morrison, 64, in the QE11 Hospital, Halifax, on November 1, 2023. He was the only son of Patricia (Patsy McPhee) and the late Roy Morrison of Glace Bay. Billy was a Red Seal Electrician who was a longtime member of Local 1852. Billy worked at various locations throughout his career, making lasting friendships along the way. Billy is survived by his adored mother Patsy; his loving daughters: Blair (Dave) and Laura Lee (Pikie); cherished grandchildren: Blake, Jack, Brody, and Cassie. Also surviving is his sister Nancy, as well as brother-in-law Binky Atkinson with whom he shared a special bond; niece Lindsay and nephew Joel (Felicia) who affectionally referred to him as Uncle Buck; grand-nephew Cameron and grand-nieces Molly and Ryleigh. Billy is also survived by the mother of his children Linda Thompson, and his godmother Geraldine (Geri) White of Port Hawkesbury. Along with his father Big Roy, Billy was predeceased by his godfather Art White of Port Hawkesbury. Special thank you to EHS and CCU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and CCU at the QE11 in Halifax. As per Billy’s wishes, Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 p.m., with Fr. Norman Mac Phee presiding, all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
