Obituary of Rita Jardine

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rita Ann Jardine age 80 of Lower Sackville, she passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side. There is no love as strong as a mother’s love. She was strong and brave throughout her journey. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Allan (Rocky Sullivan) and Ethel Organ Sullivan. Rita is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Everett; their children, Sonya (Paulo Brilhante), Denise (Paul Brown), Everett (Marsha, Maddison) and Kelli (Mark McGrath); grandchildren, Danielle, Hillary (Jordan Audas), Nick, Emily, Brianna and David; sisters, Gloria, Linda (Ozzie Gray); brothers, Allan (Brenda), Bob (Maureen); brother-in-law, Percy Fawson, and all her special nieces, nephews and cousins. Best friend Elizabeth Hickman who was like a sister. Rita was predeceased by her infant daughter, Kelly; sister, Alana Fawson; nephew, Craig; mother-in-law, Alice (Pat Garnier); and father-in-law, William Jardine. Until her retirement, Rita was employed at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Mom. Her pleasant, kind, generous personality, was contagious to everyone that she met. Most of all she loved her family dearly. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, decorating, gardening, going to movies and trips to the beach. A life well lived and so loved sweet kisses mom and promises to honour and hold you in our hearts forever. Goodbye for now forever we will love you and always remember what it feels like to wrap our arms around you and hear your laughter. With love transcending until we meet again. A celebration of life will be held for Rita at a later date. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation as Rita supported through the years.
