I never made it home often over the years but whenever I did, Kim was the first person on my list to see. Our lives took different paths but we would sit and talk like we hadn't been apart for years. We had so many shared memories of growing up in the Bay; hitchhiking to Dominion beach in the summers, boyfriends, hanging around town, sharing clothes, borrowing her Dad's car to go to the drive-in, I can go on and on. We would write letters while I was travelling and she would keep me up to date on life back in Place Bay. I have a saved letter where Kim was extremely excited to tell me she was getting married. When her first daughter was born Kim and Kerry were living in Olds, AB. I was so excited to drive down from Edmonton to meet the new arrival. We may have drifted apart over the years but I always talked of my best friend back east. To the family, my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your wife, mother, Grandmother, cousin and friend.
