Obituary of Coleen Marie MacLeod

Coleen Marie MacLeod, 82 Glace Bay, NS It is with deep sorrow, that we, the family of Coleen Marie MacLeod, of Glace Bay, announce her passing on Monday, June 19, 2023, in the Seaview Manor, with her family at her side. Coleen was the daughter of the late Annice and Thomas Locke of Glace Bay, NS. Coleen was a Bank Teller in the Coady Credit Union, New Aberdeen for several years. Throughout the years Coleen enjoyed fishing, going for walks around the Dam; she also loved to bowl, and was a member of the Knox Bowling Club. Coleen held a special place in her heart for the family cottage off Trout Brook Road on the Mira River and her childhood home on Birkley Street. Her daily wish was to make someone laugh and to smile daily. Coleen is survived by a son Allister MacLeod (Elaine Arseneau); three grandchildren: Craig MacLeod (Tracy White), Colin MacLeod (Madison Tobin), and Greg MacLeod; two step grandchildren: Eleana Acosta (Chris Stan) and Evan Acosta. Along with her parents, Coleen was predeceased by a son Brian MacLeod and daughter in law Anne-Marie MacLeod, sister Myrna Miller, brother Billy Locke, and the father of her children Norris MacLeod. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 3-6 p.m. in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902.849.4199. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Brookside St., Glace Bay. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
