Obituary of Michael C. Scully

It is with great sadness the family of Michael C. Scully announces his passing on Thursday, April 6th, 2023 at the QE2 Infirmary, Halifax, NS Michael was born July 25, 1955 in Saint John, NB to Audrey (Treneer) and Harry Scully, while growing up in Wedgwood Park, Halifax, NS. He attended Kings Collegiate School, in Windsor, NS, with a short stint at St Mary’s University after Grade 11. Michael was a born salesperson, beginning in his early years with Tip Top Tailors to most recently with Access Cash and Sales Director, Candock, Halifax. Prior to his illness, Michael was an avid sailor at the RNSYS and created many wonderful friendships there. He also had a regular poker group of great friends who kept his spirits high during difficult times. But, above all, Michael loved his family more than words can say and was extremely proud of his 3 children…. Christopher Baccardax-Scully (Vancouver, BC) as well as twin daughters Victoria Scully (Neil) and Catherine Scully, both of Halifax, NS. Michael is also survived by sisters, Karen (Bryce) Schnare, Halifax, NS, Sally (Maurice) Horne, Dartmouth, NS and Debby (Greg) Pettis, Bedford, NS; many beloved nieces and nephews; as well as his one and only cousin, Brian (Odile) Scully, Lachute, QC. Michael often tearfully said he was fighting for his potential lung transplant for purely selfish reasons…he wanted more time with us all….his precious family and friends. Michael was a fighter and advocated passionately for himself during his illness. Sadly, he lost his battle but is at peace now… we are sure of it ❤️ A Celebration of Life will be held for Michael on Sunday, April 16th, from 2:00 - 5:00pm, in the Armdale Yacht Club, 75 Burgee Run, Halifax, NS, B3P 0C9.
