Michael was the best man in our wedding. He was our dear friend. He had planned to visit us in Florida after recovery, and always kept in touch. He was like family to us. We will miss him terribly.

I met Mike when living in Wedgwood. We would hang out and play in the tree fort of his back yard. Over the years Mike and I would bump into each other and as always he was Mike; a wonderful, caring and decent person. I certainly am a better man for knowing Mike.
Rest well my old friend, your deep in my heart.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. I am one of the Friday night poker buddies. Mike's generosity and kindness was only matched by his hospitality. Mike and and I were always considered Guppies in a Shark tank when it came to playing poker!! but good times and good memories were had by all. We will miss you Scully.

I worked with Michael at Sears Even though he worked there only a short time he made a positive impact on those who worked closely with him. He was a great team player and not only took care of his clients but anyone else that needed help. He was a true salesman with class and integrity. Sending my deepest condolences to Mikes family at this difficult time.

I have many memories of growing up across the street from Michael Scully. Most of them the normal things kids do and most of them happy. Camping out overnight in his back yard, playing pool in his basement, eating my first pizza at one of his birthday parties and having crushes on his older sisters. One of those memories is not so happy because Michael and I got in trouble with our Moms.
One day when we were in grade three we were sent home from school because a winter storm had started with the snow quickly accumulating. We lived about a half hour walk from school and headed off in the blizzard. Part way home Michael thought we should take refuge in an empty house under construction long enough to eat my peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich. We thought we were having an adventure not knowing our mothers were expecting us. Mrs Scully, worried sick, ventured out in her car looking for us. Having resumed our trek through the snow she encountered us about a block from home. She bawled Michael out for not coming straight home. She then turned to me in the back seat and asked what was I thinking of. I weakly answered that I was just following Michael. Mrs Scully replied “well if Michael stuck his head in a hot oven would you do that too?”
I still laugh over that line. I am sure Michael’s family have lots of entertaining stories through which he will live on with them.
My sincere condolences
Tim Reid

Karen, Sally and Deb, I was so sorry to hear about Michael. He has fought a brave battle and I know how much he wanted that lung transplant in order to spend more time with his loved ones. I only knew Michael as a little boy as we left NS in 1972. He was a great little kid and full of fun and his three older sisters adored him and rightfully so!!!!! To his children, his sisters and friends, please accept my deepest sympathy. I know beautiful memories will always remain close to your hearts.

Some of my fondest memories of Uncle Michael are from the Christmases ( grammar check Bubby) we spent together when we lived in London ON. This photo is from Christmas 2007. The "girls" as we lovingly called Catherine and Victoria had moved to London so it made sense that Michael would come to our house from Toronto and spend the holiday with us.
The best , and now funny, memory was Christmas 2004 the year Sam was born. Sam was due Christmas day and luckily arrived a week early. Michael and Les were on Turkey duty ...... not sure if I need to go any further. Picture this, a 2 year old, an uncle and his two girls, a husband and his parents, a dog and me and our week old baby. It is Christmas Day and might be around mid morning, maybe even lunch time. Michael says " Do you want me to pull the turkey out of the freezer?" to which we said "Oh , is it in the freezer?" .... are we getting the gist of the story yet??
Long story short after much back and forth it came to light that there had been a grave misunderstanding about whose job it was to buy the turkey. With no turkey in hand and Michael frantically phoning all over London to try and get one (I did not know this until later) we decided to pull out some chicken from the freezer and proceeded to BBQ it for dinner.
We had a great dinner, a lot of laughs and memories that will last for the rest of my life time.
Love you Michael .... say hi to Nanny and Grampy for me.
xoxo
Angie
