Joe, Anne, David and Marie: Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Betty. I can still recall the smell of the rubber handles of her bicycle on my hands as I learned to ride her bike. She never minded lending it out and I'm sure it was the only way I would have ever learned to ride as we couldn't afford to buy one! Betty was a constant part of our growing up as she was at our house daily playing with which ever one of us was around. She will never be forgotten. I was so pleased to hear how much she loved her "Apartment" when she moved to North Sydney. RIP Betty. Patricia (Kennedy)

Condolences to all the Lovett family. Betty was the type of person who could put a smile on your face because she was always happy to meet you. I remember when she would come into the Credit Union to pay a utility bill and was happy when I gave back the change which may have included a $5.00 bill. I didn't know her joy at receiving a $5.00 bill until reading her obituary. When I look back at the wonderful people I grew up with in Louisbourg I definitely think of Betty. We are very lucky to have known her. Cherish her memory! Anne Peck-Lahey

Having met Betty when I was on staff at NSG, she left a lasting impression. We had many lovely chats over the years she resided there. Usually about when I would get a day off, or how busy a day it was. Her smile lit up a room and I have so many fond memories of Betty, such a dear soul. She brightened the day with her kind words and caring.

My sincere sympathy to Betty's family. Everyone in Louisbourg knew and loved Betty Lovett - another Louisbourg icon passed. I always enjoyed my chats with her (at the P.O.) and of course, enjoyed having her as our special guest every July 1 at the S and L museum. She was missed when she left the area but not forgotten. I remember as a little girl playing skipping and riding our bicycles all over town together. My family loved Betty and she loved all of us. Especially my Uncle Jimmy Norman. Those were special memories I'll cherish of her her forever.
