Before I had even met Dannie in person, I was told about the time he had rescued a child from drowning and received an award from the Government of Canada or some such authority. Michael and I lived in Ontario, but vacationed yearly in Cape Breton. However, Dannie worked in Montreal and/or Edmonton so we didn't always spend a lot of time together. But when we did, like the week-ends he spent with us in Mississauga, Dannie was always soft spoken, had a great sense of humor, was selfless, kind, generous and humble. I pray that he is at peace, enjoying the spiritual company of Sadie and Hughie, Grandma MacLean, and so many many more loved ones who have gone before him. I pray also that Michael, Peggy, Dave and the rest of the family will feel God's peace and comfort as they enjoy warm happy memories of Dannie.
