Obituary of Rita D. MacQueen

MACQUEEN, Rita D, Age 92, of Halifax, NS. Passed away February 10, 2023 at QEII HI. Born in Sydney, NS., she was the daughter of Dennis and Mary (MacDonald) Boudreau. She worked for several years at the Woolco Pharmacy, Sydney River. She was well known in the Sydney skating community where she made many lifelong friends. Rita is survived by her sons, Gregory (Liz), Ottawa, ON., Paul (Cheryl), Victoria, BC; daughters, Denise Bell, Halifax, NS., Janet (Peter) MacKinnon, Calgary, AB.; brother, Dennis (Brenda) Boudreau; sisters, Jeanette Bremner, Regina, SK., Marie (John) Rakoschi, St. Thomas, ON., Irene Boudreau, Moncton, NB.; grandchildren, Kenzie MacKinnon, Erin and Kaylee MacQueen, and Grace MacQueen. Rita is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; her parents; her sisters, Evelyn MacLeod, Elizabeth (Betty) MacPherson and brother, Lawrence Boudreau. Arrangements have been entrusted to T. J. Tracey cremation and Burial Specialists Halifax, 902-835-4212. There will be no visitation or service. Interment at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney, NS. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
