Obituary of Joanne Marie Edwards

Joanne Marie Edwards (Cormier), age 59 of Bedford, N.S., Bouctouche & Panama, passed away April 5, 2018 at home in Bedford, N.S. Born in Bouctouche, NB she was the daughter of Bertha Leblanc (Savoie) and stepfather Camille LeBlanc. Joanne was a flight attendant for more than 30 years with Air Canada and volunteered at the “boutique” of Beacon House Food Bank for many years. She enjoyed the ocean, digging clams and quahaugs as well as picking berries and shopping at Frenchies. She appreciated many genre of music and even entertained friends and family with her Patsy Cline and classic country tunes. She loved Bouctouche in the summer and playing in the ocean with several friends in Panama during the winter. She had an amazing, entertaining story telling ability and was often the life of the party. She was a very strong, kind, friendly sole and always willing to help. Joanne is survived by her husband of 25 years, Michael Edwards; her daughter, Nicole and two step-sons Ian and Nicholas Edwards; her 2 sisters Rosemonde (Roger) Leblanc, Denise Cormier, her 5 brothers Paul (Virginia) Cormier, Norman (Lise) Cormier, Joseph (Nancy) Cormier, Roger Leblanc and Laurie Leblanc. Joanne was predeceased by her father, Clarence Cormier. Celebration of life services will be held at later dates in Halifax, Bouctouche and Panama. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Beacon House Foodbank, VON or Cdn Red Cross. Special thanks are extended to the Palliative Care Team and VON Nurses who made her stay at home possible.
