Francis Bernard McPhee
Our beloved father, Husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, Francis Bernard McPhee, at the young age of 51, has passed on January 3rd, 2023, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay Nova Scotia, he was the son of Isabel and the late Omer McPhee
Francis was a lover of many things; he was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. The life of the any party, if he was there, so was his guitar. Francis was known for his amazing voice and guitar playing, His generosity and his kind soul. Francis worked away for many years doing what he loved (NDT) but his favourite part about work was coming home to his kids with open arms and so much love. Francis was the kindest man you could ever meet, to know him is to love him, it was privilege to be in his presence.
His kids were his world, and he was their best friend, you couldn’t have a conversation with him without hearing how proud he was of each of his children, his past time included fishing, family BBQ’s watching his big boys play hockey, his favourite season was hockey season. He found so much Joy in watching his boy box you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face when Hayden walked into the ring, he was never without his sidekick. he was our biggest fan. He loved spoiling his baby girl and did so every chance he got. He made everything fun and spending time with him was always a time you wanted to last forever.
Francis survived by his wife of 35 years, Tammy McPhee; his three sons, Evan, Nathan and Hayden McPhee and his baby girl Marissa (Ryan) MacDonald. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Julie MacNeil; sisters Sharon (Dwayne) McPhee, Laurie (Derrick) Parsons; brother Kevin; grandchildren, Gracie Jayne, Anaya, Remington, Rhyan and the late Jovie June as well as many nieces, nephews, in laws, aunts and uncles and many friends, one being his life long best friend who has been there till the end, Terry (Donna) McMullin.
Francis was predeceased by his father, Omer McPhee; his infant son, Matthew and his beautiful granddaughter Jovie June and special uncle Dougie McPhee; maternal grandparents Len and John Thomas; paternal grandparents Johnny and Anniemay McPhee.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday January 9, 2023, from 12- 3 p.m. followed by memorial service at 3 p.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).

A special thank you to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, for the care given in his short stay and the compassion shown in his last days, we would like to thank his nurse Chloe for the compassion and empathy she had shown us in his time of passing and the warm comfort she provided for our dad as well as us. Thank you.
