When Francis was just a teenager he lived with our family a few times in Toronto. I remember playing hide and seek in the apartment building where we lived. Jason and I running down the halls and through the stairwells with Francis in hot pursuit. One time he dashed through the open door of apartment 307 and right into the bedroom looking for us. Only problem was we lived on the second floor. He scrambled his way out and eventually found us. We laughed so hard together I thought my sides would burst. Francis used to talk about Tammy all the time. How she was the love of his life and how they were going to get married one day. I was only about 13 years old at the time and even then he made it sound so cool. I will never forget him strumming the guitar while he showed me how to play Hotel California. All the trips to Bridlewood mall. The acid wash jean jacket and pants combo he bought with his first paycheck. He looked like a rock star with that long hair. We all adored him. I remember my father teasing Francis about always having 'a sandwich hanging from his lip'. We always had so much fun when Francis was there. I know we lost touch over the years but it always felt like he was my older brother. And never too far away. I'm going to miss him a lot.

To my dear cousin Isabel, Francis’s mother. To Tammy, his wife and his family my heart breaks to have been informed of the passing of Francis. It does not surprise me that he was a kind and caring person, he inherited those traits from both his mom and dad. I have no doubt that his children carry those same personalities. On behalf of family who do not post messages online, I send condolences from each of them. Remember, our loved ones are not lost, they are safe in God’s hands. RIP Francis.
