David Raymond Lind, CD 1956 - 2022 Dartmouth, NS David Lind passed away at his home in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on December 23, 2022; shortly after his 66th birthday. Born in Glace Bay, N.S.; he was pre-deceased by his parents, Raymond & Jean (Roy) Lind. He is survived by his sisters, Rilla (Joe) MacDougall; and Barbara (Lind) Detcheverry; his nephew, Derreck Parsons (whom Dave treated like a son); Laurie Parsons and their children, Emily, Hailey, and Reilly; niece, Michelle Freeman; and many dear friends. Dave became a flying instructor after graduating high school and had a long career working as a staff officer with the Canadian Forces Cadet Instructor Cadre. As a volunteer, Dave contributed to the growth of alternative justice organisations for youth in Halifax Regional Municipality. Following his initial career, he began working for call centers, the most recent, serving business clients for Staples Inc. Dave was an avid aviator and outdoorsman in his youth and always loved spending time with family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed socializing, playing guitar, and singing, as well as activities within the Society for Creative Anachronism and Crimson Knot Pirate Association. Adventurous, kind, and a very loyal friend, Dave will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. Special thanks to his dear friends Andrew, Robert and Kim for the love and support provided over the years, especially during his long period of illness. “The comfort of having a friend may be taken away, but not that of having had one.” ~ Seneca A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
