Obituary of Archibald Pushie

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Archie Pushie on December 25, 2022. Born in Glace Bay September 8, 1935, he was the son of Alexander and Gladys (MacDonald) Pushie. He is survived by his wife Peggy, her son Scott (Kris), daughter Lynn (Dennis), brother Lee (Joyce), grandson Andreas, granddaughter Laurie (Dave) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Margie; son Darrel; brothers Alexander, Orville, Dewar and sisters Joan and Dorothy. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Jamael (late Bill), Lorraine (Jim) MacIntyre, Georgina (Bill) Gallagher, Sheila MacKenzie (late Lee), Sharyn McDonald (late Gary) and Edna (Ross) MacCormack. Archie joined the military at the age of sixteen and thoroughly loved his career, serving through Europe and Canada. He enjoyed curling, skiing, skating and hiking the Highlands and loved going for long drives around Cape Breton, the island he so dearly loved. He especially loved summers spent in Inverness. Archie was an avid hockey fan and season ticket holder for the Cape Breton Oilers and Cape Breton Eagles. A special thank you to Dr. Saliba, Dr. Kate MacInnis, Dr. Ajuwon and the Palliative Care Team and the Cancer Clinic for their care and support. Donations may be made in his memory to the War Amps of Canada, the Glace Bay Food Bank or charity of one’s choice. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J.
