Obituary of George R. A. White

George R.A. White Donkin George R A White (GRAW), 67, Donkin, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 with his family by his side after a very brief illness. George is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gail; his children, Jeffrey (Susan), Jennifer (Max Henderson), and Jamie (Allison). His greatest gifts were his grandchildren, Jacob, Brady and Isla. George is survived by his sisters, Freema (Lloyd), Yvonne, Della (Mario), Melinda (Bobby), Trina; brothers, Roy, Robert (Rose) and Kyle (Tammy). He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Ray, Robert (Joyce), and Jim (Margie); sisters-in-law, Ruth and Pat (Henry). George will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. George was preceded by his mother, Edna (Walton); father, George White Sr.; brother in-law, Brian Simpkins; sister-in-law, Margie Mills; nephew, Shane; nieces, Kelly (in infancy), Corrina and Alicia. A lot of people knew George as the administrator of Donkin.com and then Donkin.ca. Most recently he championed the Donkin Facebook group. George was an avid photographer, historian and genealogist. His most recent occupation was instructor at NSCC Marconi campus. He worked for Devco for 30 years prior to this. At George’s request there will no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his honour to a charity of one’s choice. We love you….
