It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Munson at the VG site QEII Palliative Care unit on Oct 12th, 2022. She was born on November 11, 1950 to the late Rev. J.E. and Dora Munson in Campbellton NB. Mary grew up in New Brunswick and Saint Lambert, QC and went on to study journalism at Ryerson in Toronto. Mary had an accomplished 37-year career as a producer at CBC.
In retirement, Mary and her husband David moved to Cape Breton, where she took up and excelled at the art of rug hooking and volunteered as a reader with CNIB in Glace Bay for a deeply inspiring woman named Marguerite. In 2021, at the age of 70, Mary published her first book, “The Fairies in Cape Breton."
Mary will be greatly missed by her husband and partner of 23 years, David Cameron; Brothers, David (Sharon) and Jimmy (Ginette); stepdaughters, Danielle (Bertram Blake) and Liana (Cliff Gaetz); grandchildren, Takara, David, Roughan and Rhys; as well, beloved niece, Suzanne and nephews, Scott, Jamie and Claude. Mary will be deeply missed by many close friends that she loved dearly.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 20th at the Armdale Yacht Club, 75 Burgee Run, Halifax, from 4pm. To 7 pm.
