I am just now learning at this late time of the passing of what was an absolutely splendid man; somebody who always made you feel as if you were the center of the conversation, the center of his attention, the most important person in the room at that moment. Admittedly I only met Eddy several times as I was a friend and professional colleague of his son Malcolm who is another person with whom I hold a very deep respect for as he stood by me in some very dark moments in my past indeed when many others had fled to the hills. This sort of character is not something that's just spontaneous or just comes from nowhere, this sort of character was passed down to him by Eddy, and it's truly a rare gift and not one which the vast majority of us share. Eddy, I thank you for passing this along to Malcolm because it touched me in such a profound manner.
You will be missed but know this, you survive in your progeny and in this way you will go on continuing to touch and to shape the world in ways in which you never could have imagined. Farewell, gentle soul, and may you truly rest in peace.
