A shining light has left our world with the passing of Eunice "Maureen" MacIsaac.
Maureen passed away peacefully at Maplestone Enhanced Care Home in Halifax.
Born on March 24,1945 in New Glasgow to Donald and Elenor (Ellsworth) and moving to Halifax with her parents along with older brother Donnie, Maureen was on the path to a successful and fulfilling life.
She attended St. Pat’s High, moving on to attend Dalhousie University where she graduated with a degree in Science. Maureen worked for Environment Canada at the BIO site in Dartmouth and was very active in the PSAC holding the position of Shop Steward.
Upon retirement she worked for Sears, and TD Waterhouse Investment branch, where she made many dear friends.
Maureen’s spiritual life was a guiding influence in here life. She attended St. Pius X and St.Benedict's Parishes in Halifax becoming involved in CWL, Parish Council, St. Vincent de Paul Society/Hope Cottage, and Hand in Hand charity shop in Spryfield.
Serving and being an advocate for the poor was foremost in her life.
Maureen is survived by her brother, Donnie (Sydney); and nieces, Loretta (Halifax), Janice (Ottawa) and Dawn (Halifax).
A Funeral service will be held September 23, 2022 at 12:15pm at Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax, NS., B3M 0E1 with a reception to follow. Internment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul society .
