Dear Jack Flemming,
Sorry I missed Gwen’s funeral, I have many fond memories of her coming to Ketch Harbour with her sister; it must have been Josephine but we knew her as Doe. I remember them siting in those wooden lawn chairs with the striped canvas covers in the back yard. Great Memories.
Lots of Love, Ginnie and John Inkpen

Gwen’s brother Wilfred “Mick” Flemming was our dearly loved grandfather, and my sister and I would like to offer our sincerest condolences to Gwen’s family. We remember many a visit to see Doe and Gwen when we were children and we remember a house full of kindness, hospitality and warmth. Sending our hopes that your hearts heal well and that you will always remember what a beautiful soul Gwen was and still is.

Visiting Aunt Gwen (Gwenie to me) is one of my earliest memories, she always had fresh baked coconut squares but those never seemed to last to the end of the visit. On the way out she would always slide some Tim bucks into your hand which I appreciated more and more the further into university I went. I know I’m richer for having known her and will carry many of the lessons learned from her for the rest of my life.

Please accept my condolences. I remember Gwen well. I joined the Clerk’s office in the fall of 69 and Gwen was one of the first to welcome me. We worked together for many years and she was always upbeat, kind, and considerate. Due to a previous appointment, I am unable to attend the service. Thinking of you all at this time.

The Flemming girls, as my Dad would lovingly refer to them, Doe, Gwen, Florence and my parents Kae
( Power) and Butch Boucher were fast friends. Every fall on their pilgrimage to Halifax, Mum and Dad visited the Flemmings. The had diner, they talked and talked and Butch always made them laugh. Especially Gwen, she always laughed at Dad’s silly jokes. With Eileen, long ago taken to heaven, they are all in God’s house now. He has prepared a room for them, and they are together doing what they did best on earth-being friends.
As children we learned that valuable lesson, and it continues with my friend David Bruce Flemming. We too can talk. David et al. my condolences and love. Cathy-Power-Boucher-Enright

Our dearest aunt Gwen, so present in our entire lives, full of fun, laughter, faith and family. She was our very special aunt, one who knew every niece and nephew’s name and their unique characteristic, making each feel loved and cherished, and part of the Flemming/Fleming family. The angel Raphael has found a special place in heaven for Gwen, alongside her beloved brothers and sisters.
