Margaret - I was in awe of your mother. Listening to you describe her strength and humor in raising you and your sibs as a single mother always reminded me of the great "mother of all" myths. Given her extraordinarily long life, there is great depth to the gifts of her love and friendships. I know many people will be sharing stories about your Mum and how much she meant to all. To the children, family and friends of Winfred Coombes. Please except my deep sincere sympathy, condolences, and prayers. I have a lot of great memories of Winnie. She was a wonderful human being. I never seen Winnie in a bad mood nor did I see her not smiling. If she a had a crossword puzzle and a cup coffee. She was as we say “set for life” a wonderful cook and baker. More importantly she was a great mother mother and grandmother. She certainly was like fine wine with age the best was yet to come. Several meals she made were in my top 10 but home made beans and fish cakes is right up there. I know it’s said time for all but I think it’s a wonderful celebration of a life lived by a wonderful soul. RIP Winnie you will never be forgotten.

I have been living next door to Winnie for the past year and I will miss her presence. First time I cut her grass I tried to anonymously cut it quickly. She came to the door and said "Barry, you don't need to do that". Later that day I was given the most amazing oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies. I probably talked to Winnie only 8 times but I respected her and admired her dearly. I think of her every time I drviratd for XMas; she loved our Rudolph dec and I left it up until now! It stands by my gate to the back yard. God bless the family and her many friends. Much love, Barry, Anne and Joshua Moore

Betty & Minnow Bourgeois We send our sincerest condolences to Gordie and family in the passing of their beautiful Mother. Such wonderful neighbors, always enjoyed chatting with Winnie and Gordie.
