Obituary of John Francis Buchanan

BUCHANAN, John Francis In memory and celebration of someone who made our world a better place. It is with heartfelt sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father John F. Buchanan May 9, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. John was born and raised in Donkin, married and raised his family in Glace Bay and lived his senior years in Halifax. John is survived by his wife, Priscilla; three children, Kenneth (Lorraine), James (Starlene), and Lynn, whom he adored and was proud to be “Dad”; and his grandchildren Manon, Brayden, Kristopher, Blake, Andrew, Keeley, Madison, Evan; and his sisters, Norma, Delores and Deborah. John was predeceased by parents Buds and Lil Buchanan and sister Annie. Grandpa enjoyed a close loving relationship with his grandchildren. He was employed with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for 28 years until his retirement in 1996. A Service will be held at Trinity United Church in Timberlea at 2pm May 19, 2022, officiated by Rev. Kevin Cox. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Blood Services or charity of your choice.
