I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. Please accept my condolences. I began work at DFO-Inspection Branch (Chemistry) in Halifax in 1977 and was very soon thereafter in contact with John in the Sydney Lab. John was always a kind and generous person and very good at his job. He also was kind enough to laugh at my feeble attempts at humour when we conversed. Later in our careers our paths crossed in a personal way when James married Starlene. As fate would have it Starlene is the sister-in-law of my sister-in-law Vicky Craig. When John and Priscilla moved to Halifax I met them in the lobby of their apartment building which was also my son's apartment building. Goes to show how small our worlds are. I will keep John in my thoughts. I hope you will find peace in your fond memories of him. Gary (and Mary) Landry

Priscilla and family;
Anne and I were saddened to learn of John's passing. We enjoyed his gentle nature and humour, which he often displayed at the Trinity Church suppers, various social activities (e.g. dances) and as part of the group of eight that played together on board game nights during the winter months over the last number of years. We will keep John in our memories and you and your family in our prayers.
Love, Carey and Anne

Priscilla, Kenneth, James, Lynn and family, I am very sorry to hear of John's passing. We worked together for most of John's career and must remark that his happiest moments were when we chatted about family. He was always so proud of everyone and must have been in his glory spending available retirement time with the grandkids. For sure he would have been an exemplary grandfather in consideration of his patience, calmness and love for family. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with you as you deal with your loss. John indeed was a fine, fine man. Sincerely, Bill(y) Moore
