Obituary of Cyril McDonald

Cyril J. McDonald Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Cyril J. McDonald, age 69 on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glace Bay, he was the only son of the late Archie and Camilla (Shaw) McDonald. Cyril is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elaine (Barkhouse) McDonald; his wonderful daughter Sarah Marie (Robert) Shears; his precious grandsons, Abbott and Henry; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 6-8 pm at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St. Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church, Main St., Glace Bay with Fr. Duaine Deveraux officiating. Burial to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Cape Breton Health Centre. Cyril's Recipe for Cloud Biscuits Ingredients: 2 cups of Flour 1 Tbsp sugar 4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup margarine 1 + 1 beaten eggs 2/3 cup milk Prep Time: 15 Minutes Cook Time: 11 Minutes Preheat over to 450 degrees F. Sift dry ingredients Cut in soft margarine Combine one beaten egg with milk and add to dry mixture. Stir until dough follows fork around bowl. Knead gently about 20 times on floured board. Pat or roll 1/2 or 3/4 inch thick and cut out with floured cutter about two inches round Place on ungreased baking sheet Brush top of dough with second beaten egg.
