JERRY GARFIELD HARPELL, Age 84, of Halifax, passed away peacefully at the Q.E. 2 on April 14th with his loving family by his side. Born in Port Bickerton, son of the late Asa and Rhoda (Horton) Harpell, Jerry worked for numerous years with Coca-Cola and CMHC. He loved to travel, play the guitar, and attend family gatherings and was a devoted member of the Full Gospel Church in Halifax. Most important to Jerry was the love of his family, grandchildren as well as his faith in God. Jerry is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Janice (Kaiser), as well as his son Ryan (Megan) and grandchildren Shelby (Lawton-Harpell), Carter and Oliver. Brothers, Charles (Elizabeth), Isaac (Sherry), John (Louise); Sisters, Hilda Sherman, Florence Baker, Marjorie (Grant) Yates, Carol Whitmore, Wanetta (Roger) Evans, Sandra (Leonard) Archibald, Barbara (David) Croft, Judy (Gordon) MacDonald, Cindy (Lloyd) MacGrath. Brothers-In-Law, Brian (Coreen) Kaiser, DeVerne Kaiser, Kurt (Cindy) Kaiser. Sisters-In-Law, Mickey Harpell, Lottie Harpell, Sandra Harpell, Barb Kaiser, Marjorie-Jane (Donnie) Nickerson as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families. Jerry was predeceased by Brothers, Hector, Harold, Stan, Clayton, Doug, and Asa Jr.; Brothers-in-Law, Melvin Baker, Ian Sherman, John Whitmore, Clifford Sherman and Dale Kaiser as well as Sisters-In-Law Anne Harpell and Barb Kaiser. We wish to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of 6.1 at the Q.E.2 Hospital for their support and compassionate care. Jerry lived every day to the fullest, could tell a story like no one else and had the ability to make anyone who graced his presence feel special. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Port Bickerton United Baptist Church or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax.
