How sad to realize that my life-long friend, Sharon, has passed away. She will be remembered by me and others for her kind and generous heart. Over her lifetime, Sharon touched the lives of all she knew in so many special ways. She always so freely gave to others of her time, talent and resources. How blessed we are to have the good memories she’s left behind. One personal memory in particular stands out for me. Each year Sharon and I looked forward to June 1st, for us to celebrate our mothers’ birthdays with them. It was interesting that both mothers were born on June 1st. Together we would plan a birthday celebration that our Moms would enjoy. A memorable occasion was our goal. “The birthday girls” were treated to a delicious birthday meal in a nice restaurant and presented with a beautiful corsage, usually an orchid. All four of us attended Mulgrave Park United Baptist Church. So, on the Sunday closest to their birthday, our Moms would again wear their corsages proudly to church. Like this one, I am truly thankful for each treasured memory I have of Sharon and for her friendship all these years. With heartfelt sympathy to family and friends who loved Sharon, Doris Wells. –Psalm 23
