Redmond family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you bid farewell to an amazing woman. I so remember her beautiful smile and welcoming nature whenever she visited Baba(Stella). She was a loving and kind woman to whom her family was her world.
My most fond memories of Mrs. Redmond was that she wasn’t in the house for two minutes when her and Baba had their aprons on making hundreds of paper thin ginger snaps, all different shapes in holiday theme. They both baked for days and finished off with their perfectly round Rum Balls, with each one rolled into a different colour Christmas sprinkle. They would reminisce of old times and laugh while happily baking, but never burnt or broke a cookie. We all were the recipient of a big cookie tin filled with their tasty treats on Christmas Eve!! Yummy!
How blessed you all have been to have her in your lives this long…… it’s just never long enough. We pray your memories of good times will help you through the hard times. Our deepest condolences to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Rosanne Paruch and Maria Young

I was so sorry to read of Anne's passing. I worked with Anne on the candy counter at Simpsons and the Bay. Anne was always energetic and we always looked forward for the big holiday candy sales. Anne was always great with the customers and we had such fun at the counter especially when I would find myself all alone and had to wait on one of our rather undesirable customers. I would look around and could see the rest of the staff out straightening shelves and they would all miraculously reappear after the person had paid for their purchase. Unfortunately, I would always get caught. Anne was a wonderful person and was always so kind and pleasant. We did keep in touch for a while and she was always so proud of her children and grandchildren. There were always great stories. She will be missed but you will have so many great memories. Sincerely, Flora LaViolette.

We are truly saddened to hear of your mom's passing. She was truly a remarkable lady and left a wonderful impression on everyone she met. Through her over eighty year friendship with my mother she became like an aunt to me and even scolded me a couple of times with my mother's blessing. Well deserved and in Polish I might add as not to hurt my feelings. I think we're all better people to have had her come into our lives. Mrs. Redmond will never be forgotten by anyone who ever had the pleasure to have known her.

To the Redmond family,
My deepest sympathy on the death of Annie. I loved my visits with her over the years, in Sydney, Truro and in Halifax. My visits with Annie were mostly with Stella and the two of them kept me entertained with their wonderful stories, recipes and cooking. Annie had such a magnificent memory and a love of her Polish community and Whitney Pier. I learned so much from her! I recall driving her to Truro one time from Sydney after she visited Stella; it seemed like we just blinked our eyes and we were there, as there was no lull in our delightful conversation. I imagine her in Heaven regaling all with her stories that will undoubtedly be sprinkled with wisdom.

Noreen, Jimmy and Brian:
How often I have thought of your mother, especially after a chance meeting at Costco when she was living in Truro. She was a kind, generous woman, quick with a smile and bursting with energy. Always one to make you feel welcome, I remember well sleep overs on Morrison St. on treat night. How lucky you all are to have had her with you for so long. My sincerest condolences.

Jimmy, Noreen and Brian our condolences to you on the loss of your Mom. Mrs. Redmond and her family were part of the Paruch family. We as kids remember fondly our trips swimming at Blacketts Lake taken there in the back of Mr. Redmond's Bens Bread truck

Always with a warm and welcoming smile, you couldn't visit Anne around this time of year without being offered a plate full of her signature holiday cookies and treats. When my parents and I moved from Sydney to Halifax in the early 1990s, Anne and Jimmy were our only extended family nearby. Several times a month I would drop-in unannounced after school and listen to Anne's stories of growing up in Whitney Pier, her time working at various shops, and updates on my cousins.
I was very saddened to hear of Anne's passing, especially since I have been unable to visit her much these past several years. My sincere condolences to Brian, Jim and Noreen and your families. She was an exceptional, kind and caring person who will be sorely missed.
