John was my brother-in-law for over 20 years. Although I always liked him, when he and my sister separated some years ago I lost touch with him and I didn’t know he had been sick. My Heart aches for the pain he was in, and I completely understand why he could not continue on here any longer. John and Skip and I always got on well and we enjoyed each others’ company. John and I shared a love of absurd comedy (particularly Monty Python) and much of the same music of the Seventies and although John was a much bigger Rolling Stones fan than I, we both agreed “Wild Horses” was THE best Stones song ever and one of the “best ever” songs of that time. I didn’t find out John had died until the evening of Christmas Day…which in some ways seems appropriate as he and I also shared a fondness for 12 year old Jameson Irish Whiskey in our eggnogs at Christmas family gatherings… :) Dear John, I am so sorry for the pain you endured. This is so very sad and painful, my deepest sympathy to his family and all that loved him. I met John roughly 40 years ago at the Holiday Inn, oh how we laughed, often not appropriately. John and I were friends outside of work and had so much fun. I had the good fortune of reuniting with him via having kids, the same age. It was nice to see him so often again. John was so funny and had such quick humor, one of a kind. I'll always remember John. He will be so missed in the lives of the many he touched. Fly free my friend.

I share with Linda lots of these same memories. He was witty & clever but never unkind. Despite my many years away I have been rocked by his loss and send love to all who miss him.

He was always friendly, and kind to us. Lately, we had seen him at Sobeys store and he was so happy talking about his grand-children. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
